Wouter van Rheenen
Wouter is a resident in neurology at the University Medical Center Utrecht in The Netherlands. In March 2017 he obtained his PhD on his thesis entitled: “Genetic risk and architecture of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis” at Utrecht University after which he combined his residency with a post doc position. He is currently visiting the PCTG as a visiting researcher to work on a new genome-wide association study in ALS/MND and investigate the shared genetic risk factors for neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, and others. During this 6 month visit he aims to increase his experience in statistical genetics and will be supervised by Prof. Naomi Wray.
