Julia joined the group as a Research Assistant in January 2017 after a 6-month occupational traineeship within the PCTG group. She holds a Doctoral degree in genetics, obtained from the University of Tartu, Estonia, where she studied DNA replication and DNA repair processes in prokaryotic cells. Julia moved into the field of human genetics in February 2016 when she started as a RA in the Estonian Genome Center. She still closely works with the Estonian Biobank to enhance collaborative research opportunities. Julia is a computational statistical genetic analyst.
